4 simple things YOU can do right NOW!

As we emerge from the ‘COVID Coma’, now is the time to start thinking about how we can send some much needed love to the local businesses who have hung on through an exceedingly difficult time.

We have said it before, and we will say it again – never has it been more important to support local business – business to business / local to local.

We can make a huge impact if we support each other and work together to make our local businesses strong again.

Holding each other up is the most important thing we can do. Here are four simple things you can do right now to help your favourite local businesses…

  1. Use social media to share the love. Make sure you get in and like your favourite local businesses. ‘Check in’ when you visit or shop with them and invite others to follow them too. Like, share or comment on their posts regularly to keep their mojo up.
  2. Use the new Instagram Support Small Business Stickers. Many of the main social media players have introduced different tools and elements to help support businesses including new ways to shop and show your loyalty for small/local businesses. There are a range of ‘Support Small Business’ and ‘Shop Local’ stickers available in Insta Stories. Don’t forget to use the location, mention and hashtag stickers also to provide a shout out and link-up to the businesses you love.
  3. Make a purchase or buy a gift voucher to use later. Now is the time to share the local dollar around. Consider this every time you make a purchase. Shop at a local business then recommend it in person and on social media whenever you can.
  4. Give them a shout out online. Write a glowing Google or Facebook review of the local business and/or product. This is one of the easiest and most effective things you can do. People increasingly rely upon online reviews before making a purchasing decision. Make sure their purchase counts for your favourite local businesses.
